`Harry potter and the order of the pheonix…critique

February 11, 2008

`Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a great book written by J.K Rowling but as far as a I see it, it’s not perfect. Yes the book had many “suspenseful”, amazing, life changing events, but yet most if the event endings are given in the “suspense” that the author is trying to create for the reader. A quick example, when Harry is taken to Dumbledore to tell him about his dream, Dumbledore doesn’t pay attention to Harry and makes him impatient, as the author was trying to create suspense about what Harry was going to do she basically made it easier for me to know that Voldemort is going to do something to him. Now I’m not saying that the whole book was like that, I’m just saying that yes the book was great but very few but major ad ends. As many people would rate it a 4+ I am rating it a 3.5 out of 5, the book is good but not as good as what expected from this author. This author has written great books but I wouldn’t classify this when as one of them.

  5. Oh ya, 3rd comment.

Ur right this book wasn’t on of my favorite from the series. Couldnt u comment on the 4th, it was the third best in my point of view.

7th is best, 6th is second best

  6. Though Harry Potter is my favorite book in all times, I do have to disagree with you. Maybe I’m wrong but you shouldn’t really look at all the bad points of a book but the good points, your critique is interesting because you talk about GOOD and BAD points but for me it’s either I’m please with a book or I’m not! Good luck with the rest of the series!

  7. I agree with you, Ehsan. The Order of the Phoenix is an interesting book but in a way, it is not actually the best among all of J.K Rowling’s books. To me, it is a bit cramped.
But she did a great job, writing the best series of all times.

Try the last installment, the Deathly Hallows. It may interest you.
